4. Tracy

If you ever want to feel amazing, you just need to hang out with Tracy for a little while.

Before the times of Covid, Tracy and I loved to improvise music together. She’d start a riff on the piano and off we’d go. Piano, flute, voices. . .  soaring, crashing, spiraling and at the best of times taking flight. Like we’re reading each other’s minds. Or more like we are one mind.

Tracy is generous with her trust. She just throws it on out there as if you have earned it. Not judging or evaluating or trying to prove anything.

It’s almost like she thinks we’re all here on earth just for the joy of it. Like it’s fine with her if you are just your regular old imperfect self.

I feel like Tracy sees the good in me. Like when I am with her I am my best and bravest self.

Tracy is one of the most life-affirming people I know.
