2. Rick&Steve
In my mind “Rick&Steve” is one word. I can’t even remember the first time I met Rick&Steve. It was some time in the 80’s when we had a stream of old, run-down cars.
Being young and poor we would buy them on their last leg and miraculously Rick&Steve would keep them running long past their expiration date.
Yep, Rick&Steve are our mechanics. And I don’t mean “were” our mechanics because, against all odds, they still are!
We have been through everything together. The engine overheating, the air conditioning dying, the transmission blowing up, 3 houses, 2 kids, 1 cross country trip.
We’ve been with Rick&Steve since the Reagan administration!
A few days ago I had a freak accident with a cement block, and some huge plastic flap started hanging down under my car and dragging around on the ground. OMG! I was convinced my car was broken forever.
Greg took it up to Rick&Steve, and they popped it on the lift and put some screw back in, and didn’t even charge us.
Those two are one of a kind.
They are genuine and generous.
It sure is delightful to be around people who care about you, who you trust, and who want to help you.
