7. The Scranton Mailman
On Saturday my sister Anna and I were in Scranton. We of course visited the Archbald Pothole! And then we were toodling around looking for the Marywood Arboretum.
It was supposedly someplace nearby, and our GPS wasn’t helping out too much.
So we leaned out the car window to ask the passing mailman if he knew where it was. He smiled and said no, as this was his first day on the route.
Anna replied “Oh, in that case we have a present for you” and handed him the lilac we had in our car. Which he took and promptly put behind his ear. . . just for fun. . . just because it was a nice day and someone handed him a lilac. . . just to be silly.
I sometimes think being silly is the best trait a person can have. OK, yes, there are some other good ones. But not taking life too seriously is one I can use more of right now!
