59. Paul Prager

I have never even met Paul Prager and yet he has touched my heart.

How is this possible you say?

Today Greg and I are on our way to Maryland's Eastern Shore to start our long-awaited vacation to Tangier Island, and then to Maine.

Tangier Island was listed in National Geographic as "a place to see before it's gone" so we decided to see it for my 60th birthday. Tomorrow we take the ferry and spend two days exploring Tangier.

So what's this whole thing about Paul Prager?

On the way to the Eastern Shore we stopped in Easton. And you can't stop in Easton without hearing about Paul Prager.

Paul is a New York energy mogul who took a shine to Easton and now owns half of the downtown. And ooh la la what a half it is!

There is Sunflowers & Greens which has one of the best salads I've ever eaten.

Bonheur where I had some amazing raspberry hazelnut ice cream.

And the Wardroom with fun and frisky pasta choices and a card-activated wine bar.

There are 10 places so far. A bookstore a china shop and many restaurants.

And the thing about every one of these places is they are lush and bountiful and beautiful and meticulously appointed.

So that's why Paul Prager touched my heart. Because one by one he is turning run-down historic buildings into gorgeous & tasty destinations.

How cool to create that much life and pride and energy.

Ha! Maybe that's why he's an energy mogul!
