57. Lisa
I first met Lisa at Allegheny College when she was in the room across the hall. She had long blond hair and a dazzling smile that could barely contain her sparkly teeth.
She was wise beyond her years because she had a long-time older boyfriend, and she was smart by nature.
During our Early Married Years we lived near each other, and getting together every few months was a way of life. The four of us had endless fun together on little jaunts, or at the Outer Banks, or staying at each other’s house.
Then came the Child Rearing Years and all the drama and delight that comes with trying to raise humans. We had so much to talk about and bond over.
And now we have empty-nests and Adult Children. And still we love to talk!
What is the spark? Why have we been friends for 40 years?
Lisa is real. She has an authenticity that is comforting.
Lisa is curious. She wants to know what's going on with you? And how are things really going? And what’s up with everyone?
Lisa is fun. She has a great sense of humor and an easy laugh.
Lisa is smart. She’s always reading, and learning, and has lots to say.
And mostly Lisa has a presence. She is supportive and caring, and she’s the kind of person you just like to be around.
