51. An Open Letter to Hello Fresh

Dear Hello Fresh,

You have been one of the few constants through the pandemic. Thank you for arriving at our doorstep every Monday full of delicious ingredients and recipes.

When contagions were high, you let me skip grocery shopping for weeks on end.  You faithfully showed up with your produce that had to be washed and dried, and you scallions that needed to be separated by whites and greens, and your sauces that had to be combined in a small bowl.

I learned new words like “Tagine” and “Barramundi.” And new lessons, like you don’t have to go to a restaurant to get tempura. And you taught Greg and me to harmoniously cook together like a choreographed dance.

Even though we were on the vegetarian plan, there was that one week where you surprised us and showed up with all meat, and we ate it anyway, and it was delicious.

Thanks for being there for us, dear friend. And taking care of us each week.
